My Priorities
- Revitalise the middle- to Eastern-section of Victoria Street with:
- supporting and promoting the new local trader consortium named "The Brewers End";
- rate relief; and
- making it easier to have more kerbside seating for patrons; increase amenity and foot traffic for businesses.
- Better services East of Collingwood train station; lots of construction and little return for your rates.
- No dedicated bike lanes along Johnston Street. Another misguided attempt to create a Greens utopia instead of addressing more important issues. I love riding but the severe congestion caused by removing two lanes on a major road will be a disaster for not only your morning commute but also - ironically - the environment.
- If we can't get the Safe Injecting Room moved, install adjacent support services that experts agree will bolster area amenity, e.g.:
- Legal aid
- Homelessness support
- Suicide prevention services and other mental health support
- Bulk-billing dental surgery
- Full publication and swift implementation of the Council's independent financial and structural review.
- Back to basics of the 4 "Rs": Roads, Rates, Rubbish, and Residents.
No more wasting the Council's time and resources creating a Greens utopia, while going bankrupt.
No more embarrassing appearances in the news.
